Tallapoosa Riverbank Cleanup Event

The river ask us not to dump trash in it because it's not legal . Explanation:  As the garbage decomposes, it will take oxygen out of the river, further harming animals. Then it will add nutrients like nitrogen and potassium that will lead to algal blooms which is harmful to the animals.

That piece of trash that you see on the sidewalk is likely to end up in your local stream or river. Every year, National River Cleanup® volunteers pull tons of trash out of our rivers. Let’s stop some of that trash from getting in the river in the first place.

Join us as we clean up litter and debris along the riverbanks. We will meet at the Liner Rd. launch site and the Broad St. launch site. Supplies will be provided. We will work from 5pm - 7pm. Please register ahead of time so I know how many supplies to bring. Drinking water will be provided.
